Swimcast update 29th Sept 2026

I've done what I can so far to test & report back, helping to improve & ultimately make Swimcraft successful.
The demo is available prior to Early Access. Be there from the outset & help shape the next generation on simming.

I know Fishsim2 will never disappear, but Swimcraft is aiming to modernise & improve the world of Fishing Simulation.

Swimcraft can't ever replace Fishsim or recapture the magic of JC Spooner's work. Instead, Swimcraft does its best to bring the genre to simmers new & old on supported operating systems, always with one eye on the future. The aim is to get the basics right, listen to player feedback and to eventually become a platform and home for anglers across the world to share and interact with angling photography in a unique and fun way, inspired by the Fishsim series.

The free demo is out now on Steam, and Swimcraft is taking part in Steam Next Fest in October, with Early Access to follow.

Elliott would love to hear your feedback good and bad and any suggestions you'd be kind enough to share.

26th Aug 2026

Hi all,

I'm Elliott, and I used to play FS2 and build venues for it; Scotney Castle, Cottington Lakes, Tarpon Hunt, and a few others, back in the day.

My love for FS and FS2 stuck with me over the years and after getting fed up with the corporate rat race, I thought I'd try some creative projects. One of them is called Swimcraft, and it releases on Steam for demo in October 2026 with early access to follow. What I'd really love is to involve the FS2 community in shaping it, you're the people who really understand what made Fishsim worth caring about, so your views on the game I've made would be brilliant, if you could spare the time.

If you're curious, there's a site and a YouTube channel with some early footage:
https://swimcraft.harbledowndigital.com/

Two things I'd be genuinely grateful for: any steer on where the old community has scattered to and how best to reach them, and (assuming the game looks like your sort of thing) whether you'd fancy trying the demo when it lands or even being part of beta testing perhaps? Honest thoughts on what you've seen so far are more than welcome too; I'd rather hear the awkward feedback now than after launch.

I've also had some contact with Jase Spooner, who's been encouraging and offered to help and advise too.

Any guidance at all would mean a lot. Thanks so much in advance.

Best,
Elliott Lee
